Hey guys! My name is Nicole and you may know me as @OhMyKeto on Instagram. I have been eating keto for almost 2 years now and I lost 92 lbs in one year with the keto diet alone.
The keto diet is a low carb and high fat way of eating that allows the body to enter into a state known as ketosis. Ketosis allows your body to run on fat instead of glucose like on the standard American diet. When your body uses fat as its primary source of energy, you no longer experience brain fog or sluggish days and depression, instead you feel full of energy and always ready to tackle the day. Oh, and did I mention it's the best way to burn stored fat thats been hanging around for years?! The keto diet consists of healthy fats like ghee, avocado, coconut oil and butter as well as delicious cuts of meats (like Spicy Biltong) paired with low carb veggies (think green and leafy!)
One of the most common questions I get asked is what snacks are good when you are eating a keto diet. This is where meal prepping really comes in handy but that's not always practical for everyone. I personally love to always have some Ayoba-Yo Biltong and Droewors on hand. These high protein beef snacks are full of explosive flavor and they contain zero sugar which makes them the perfect snack on a keto diet. Not only do I love them, but my kids adore them as well. They are perfect for after soccer practice, as a snack while hiking and even as a quick bite before heading to the grocery store (never shop hungry, friends!) I've tried many different types of beef jerky and Ayoba-Yo always takes the cake. Maybe thats because Ayoba-Yo isn't just jerky...it's biltong, and it's incredible.
